Sugar pumpkins, which look like decorative pumpkins but are smaller, are excellentf or cooking and baking with a firm, sweet flesh that is much smoother than that of larger pumpkins. One pumpkin gives about the same amount of puree as a can of pumpkin puree, or maybe a little more.
